The beginner onboarding roadmap
Build a sense of safety first, then move into operations. Follow the order below — each step has a detailed step-by-step guide.
Sign-up & identity verification (KYC)
Prepare your email/phone and ID, then complete exchange sign-up and identity verification.
Do security setup first (2FA / anti-phishing)
Enable Google Authenticator, set an anti-phishing code and bind devices before any funds move.
Deposit & buy (C2C / USDT)
Buy USDT peer-to-peer via C2C and understand deposit methods and settlement.
USDT & spot orders
Understand stablecoins, limit and market orders, and try spot trading with small amounts.
Risk control & stop-loss
Set stop-losses and position caps, build risk awareness and avoid impulsive trades.
Before you start, the questions you care about most
I’m a complete beginner — what should I do first?
Sign up at a mainstream exchange and complete identity verification (KYC), then immediately do security setup (2FA, anti-phishing code) before depositing and buying. Order matters: secure the account first, then move money.
With zero background, how long until I can buy?
Following this roadmap, most people can go from sign-up to a first small spot trade within 1–2 hours. Run the whole flow with a small amount first, then scale up gradually.
How much money do I need to start?
Only use spare money — starting with the equivalent of about $15–70 is plenty to learn. The point is to get familiar with the flow and risks, not to invest big upfront. This roadmap is educational and not investment advice.
Do I need to learn candlesticks / technical analysis first?
No. Beginners should first master security setup, depositing & buying, limit/market orders and stop-losses. Technical analysis can come later once the flow is familiar.
Do I have to use Binance?
No. Bybit, OKX and other mainstream exchanges follow a similar flow; we use Binance for the walkthroughs. Pick one and get comfortable — the principles (KYC, security setup, risk control) are universal.
